Long-Term Family Survival Course

Hello, Patriot. The fact that you’re curious shelves dees 300x223 about the Family Survival Course tells me two things: You love your family, and you’re concerned about the future. It was these two things that got me interested in survivalism several years ago. I live on the gulf coast, and though hurricane Katrina didn’t harm my city very much, I was shocked at the pitiful response by our government in New Orleans. Then a few years later when the economy turned south, I began to realize just how fragile our system is. And despite what the media would have you believe, things are worse than ever. If you want to know what I’m talking about, read these 3 frightening facts.

Unfortunately, I wasted a lot of money when I first started prepping. I bought hundreds of dollars worth of survival books and MRE’s. I didn’t know that most of those books are full of useless information, and I didn’t realize how unhealthy MRE’s are and that no one should eat them for an extended period of time.

The truth is, you don’t have to become a total expert to survive the next crisis. For example, you probably won’t need to rub two sticks together to build a fire. You’re far better off buying a pack of Bic lighters from Walmart. But there are some skills that will be absolutely essential when the time comes. The Family Survival Course cuts out all the fluff and teaches you exactly what you need to know to ride out the next disaster.

Find Out What’s In The Course!

Despite the advice of companies that sell “survival food,” you don’t want to be stuck eating MRE’s and dehydrated food everyday. Many of these foods are full of sodium and trans fats. Although they might hold you over during a temporary disaster like a hurricane or an earthquake, you don’t want to eat them for long because your health will suffer. It’s important to prepare for a long-term disasters as well, especially considering where our economy is headed. So instead of spending thousands of dollars on these unhealthy ready-made meals, you should go to a store like Sam’s Club or Costco.

after the crisis

The Family Survival Course identifies 44 essential food items that will cover all your nutritional needs and allow you to make any type of meal. With this information your family will look like the people in the picture on the left above instead of like everyone else, as shown on the right.

The long-term Family Survival Course is a collaboration between Jason Richards and John Lahan. Just so you know what you’re getting into, let me tell you about these two men.

jason richards and familyJason Richards is the founder of SurviveFoodCrisis.org and has been an expert on preparedness for years, but his sense of urgency went through the roof a few years ago when he realized just how dire our situation is. Massive government deficits have put our country on the verge of hyperinflation. And as if that weren’t bad enough, half of our soils are useless, heat waves are killing our crops, and the threat of terrorism is on the rise. Because most cities only have a few days of food on hand, we are just one major crisis away from total chaos. It was this realization that inspired him to step up his preparations and survival skills. To do so, he sought out the best instructor he could find: John Lahan.

John Lahan teaches survival workshops and boot camps in Pasadena, California that are so popular, he is booked solid for years. He’s an ex-military who fought in Afghanistan and knows military survival skills. Although he already could have been called an expert, he became an absolute fanatic after his home was destroyed in hurricane Katrina. He quickly realized he couldn’t afford all the gear and supplies he wanted, so he had to expand his knowledge and get creative. Eventually, he took everything he learned and started his survival training school.

After Jason completed the workshops, he approached John and asked if he could take information from John’s lessons and create the ultimate family survival course. After all, not everyone can afford to fly to Pasadena and pay for extremely expensive workshops or wait years to get into one. John liked the idea, and the rest is history. (Go here for the full story.)

Here’s a list of some of the things you’ll find in the Family Survival Course:

  • 44 foods you should buy.
  • An easy way to grow your own food.
  • How to store your food properly.
  • Quick, simple ways to purify water.
  • Herbal medicines and how to store them.
  • How to generate your own power.
  • Making your home safe from looters.
  • The best weapons for self defense.
  • Common mistakes to avoid.
  • What to do if there’s a government roundup.
  • And much, much more.

Default Is Inevitable

It is now mathematically impossible for the U.S. government to pay off its debt. Default is inevitable. There are only two ways a government can default. First, it can admit that it’s broke and tell its investors that it won’t be able to pay them back. Second, it can print so much money that the money becomes worthless, allowing it to repay its debts with paper. Historically, most governments choose the latter option.

A lot of people’s eyes glaze over when they hear about this. The idea of hyperinflation is so frightening that they refuse to accept it as a possibility. They shrug their shoulders and think, “They’ll find a solution.” Here’s a list of countries that experienced hyperinflation. Why couldn’t any of them find a solution? Take a look at how fast the debt has been rising:

total debt 2013

Some people argue that the next administration might balance the budget and avert disaster. What they don’t understand is that we’re past the point of no return. If we were to balance the budget now, we would have to cut military spending, medicare, and social security in half or more. The pain that would cause would be horrendous. On the other hand, not making those cuts will be even more painful in the long run (and by long run, I mean a few more years). There is no easy solution.

What’s more, I believe there are plenty of people in the government who know exactly what’s coming. They know that eventually investors will abandon the dollar and hyperinflation will occur. That’s why the U.S. government is preparing for collapse by purchasing ammunition and passing laws like the National Defense Resources Preparedness executive order. They can’t prevent the inevitable, but they are preparing to use the military to maintain control.

Peter Schiff is an economist who predicted the 2008 housing collapse several years before it happened. Now he’s predicting a U.S. dollar and bond crisis and expects it to “blow the 2008-9 financial crisis out of the water.”

gas price riots

How exactly will it play out? We can only speculate. Any number of events could trigger a sell off. But when it happens, the first thing to skyrocket in price will be oil. When U.S. treasury bonds are abandoned by foreign investors, oil prices will jump so high that most people won’t be able to fill their gas tanks. And that’s just the beginning.

It will be too expensive for companies to ship food and other important products. When people realize that no new food is on the way, all grocery and convenient stores will be ransacked and many people will be hurt or even killed in the subsequent food riots. Eventually the government will attempt to restore order, but they will likely do this by declaring martial law and confining people to their homes (like they did in Boston after the bombing). If you don’t have enough food in your home to survive until the trucks start moving again, it will be tough luck.

There are even reports from people in the military that the government is preparing massive grave sites all over the country. Riots and food shortages will create a lot of dead bodies, and FEMA is stocking up on tens of thousands of grave liners in preparation. Time to Get Ready

angry mobAt the official Family Survival Course site Jason Richards asks an interesting question: What if an angry, hungry mob is banging on your front door? What do you do? There are several ways to react in that sort of situation, but almost all of them will get you killed. So what is the proper reaction? If you don’t know, then you need the Family Survival Course.

It’s 2013, and frankly I’m amazed the economy isn’t even worse. Once again, the government has managed to kick their economic problems down the road, but the road is near its end. We are all living on borrowed time, and it’s time to get ready.

For the past five years I’ve been warning people that something worse than a hurricane or earthquake is headed our way. It’s an economic tsunami that is going to hurt all but the richest people. And many of the poorest people won’t survive. I don’t enjoy telling people this, but they need to hear it. If you saw that your neighbors’ house was on fire, wouldn’t you bang on their door and tell them to get out?

I’ve had many people tell me that I’m an alarmist and that the economy won’t get as bad as I’m predicting. First of all, it’s a mathematical certainty that the economy will crash; it’s just a question of how it will play out. (I highly recommend Mises.org if you want to learn more about economics.) Second, we can all see that geopolitical tension has been on the rise for over 10 years. So even if the economy doesn’t crash, history indicates that it’s only a matter of time before another war breaks out.

If you still think I’m crazy, you can leave this site now. If you think there is a pending disaster but that the government will step in and save us all, you can leave, too. Sure, it would be great if the government could give every family enough food to survive for a year, but the problem is that governments have to get their money from somewhere. And if they can’t extract enough through taxation or price inflation, they go broke. Don’t count on the government to save you unless you want to be a starving refugee in a FEMA camp.

However, if you understand the danger we are facing, I encourage you to stay on this site and read some of the other articles. Better yet, check out Jason Richards’ video presentation on the Family Survival Course.
